Nathan Oake, PGA – Founder
Nathan is a 24 year member of the PGA, Co-Founder of the Kensington Junior Golf Tour and 2023 Inductee of the Michigan High School Golf Coaches Hall of Fame. Nathan and teaching/coaching colleague Ethan Hawker started the LJGA in 2006 with the goal of providing a local, affordable and enjoyable vehicle for junior golfers to hone their competitive golf skills. The Washtenaw Tour was added in 2010, the Oakland Tour in 2014 and Wayne Tour in 2016 - leading to a re-branding as the Kensington Junior Golf Tour. Nathan has been a high school Marketing teacher at Hartland HS since 2004 and was honored as the Michigan Marketing Teacher of the Year in 2013. Nathan has served as the Hartland Varsity Boys Golf Coach since 2006 leading the team to State Finals appearances in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2015 and 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2021 and being honored as District, Regional and State High School Coach of the Year. Nathan's work with the Junior Tours has twice been nominated for the Michigan Section PGA Junior Golf Leader award. Before a career in education, Nathan focused primarily on golf instruction and tournament operations as the Director of Instruction at Leslie Park & Huron Hills Golf Courses in Ann Arbor, and Assistant PGA Professional at Barton Hills Country Club in Ann Arbor. Nathan has also focused a large part of his golf career on junior golf instruction and has been a private instructor for several Division I, II and Junior College collegiate players. Nathan is a graduate of Ferris State University’s Professional Golf Management program where he completed internships at Oakland Hills CC in Bloomfield Hills, Greyhawk GC in Scottsdale, AZ, Brookfield CC in Roswell, GA and Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. Nathan also earned an MBA in Finance and Management from Eastern Michigan University in 2004.
Daniel Aldred – Tournament Director
Dan is entering his 12th season with the Kensington Junior Golf Tours. He currently teaches Social Studies at Hartland High School and served 12 years as JV golf coach. Dan was honored as the JV/Assistant Golf Coach of the year in 2014 by the MIGCA and was twice elected the Hartland "Golden Apple" award winner as the student's favorite teacher. His caring attitude and desire to help others be successful has helped him be a favorite of both students and athletes. Dan is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and earned a Master's Degree at Saginaw Valley State University.
